John Bleuel
“I admire the overall flexibility, reliable intonation, evenness of sound from top to bottom, and superb altissimo of the Rousseau mouthpiece line. These mouthpieces allow the player to establish her/his own unique voice. As someone who looks to many non-saxophonists as models in trying to obtain “the” sound, the color potential of the Rousseau mouthpieces is very appealing to me. The sound truly has a three dimensional aspect that I don’t hear with other mouthpieces. I have musician’s focal dystonia, and the free blowing nature of the Rousseau mouthpieces lends itself to producing an individual yet characteristic saxophone sound, which makes playing much easier for someone with my condition. The singing quality of these mouthpieces from register to register is unsurpassed.”
